Join us for our Post Election wrapup as we will be hearing from experienced political gurus, Dick Wadhams and Ted Trimpa and moderated by Alasyn Zimmerman of KOAA. We will be discussing topics such as the results of the 2024 election, why we saw the results we did and what to expect from both parties moving forward, both at the state and federal levels.

About the Speakers
Dick Wadhams
Dick Wadhams is a Republican political consultant who served as Colorado Republican state chairman from 2007 to 2011. He is also a columnist for the Denver Gazette and Colorado Springs Gazette and he is a political analyst for KCNC-TV/CBS Colorado. He was campaign manager for Governor Bill Owens in 1998 when Owens became the first Republican governor to be elected in 28 years and he remains the only Republican governor in the past 54 years. Wadhams worked for U.S. Senator Bill Armstrong for nine years before managing campaigns for U.S. Senator Hank Brown in 1990 and U.S. Senator Wayne Allard in 1996 and 2002. He was campaign manager for U.S. Senator John Thune of South Dakota in 2004 when Thune unseated Senate Democratic Leader Tom Daschle which was the first time in 52 years a sitting Senate leader had been defeated for reelection. Wadhams worked for U.S. Senator Conrad Burns of Montana in 1994 when Burns became the first Republican senator to be reelected in Montana history.
Ted Trimpa
Ted Trimpa is the Principal and CEO of Trimpa Group LLC, a national political consulting and government relations firm that specializes in progressive public policy advocacy and political strategy. With offices in Washington D.C. and Denver, Trimpa Group develops cutting-edge public policy strategies at the state and federal levels. Trimpa also serves as a board member for numerous organizations, including the Democracy Alliance, ProgressNow, Third Way, Citizen Engagement Laboratory, and Tectonic Theater Project.
Trimpa is one of the country’s most sought-after advocates resulting from his deep understanding of the national and multi-state public policy, political, and nonprofit landscape. Called “Colorado’s answer to Karl Rove” by The Atlantic, Trimpa is a nationally recognized Democratic strategist and operative. He is considered a key architect of the political infrastructure that facilitated the Democratic Party’s resurgence in Colorado after decades of Republican dominance—a turnaround so dramatic National Review dubbed it the “Colorado miracle.” Campaigns & Elections recently named him one of the top five Democratic political players in the state.
Alasyn Zimmerman
Alasyn Zimmerman is an Investigative Reporter with KOAA-TV in Colorado Springs, CO. In addition to her investigations, she's led the station's election coverage since 2020 and garnered awards from the Colorado Broadcaster's Association including "Best Public Affairs Reporting", "Best Use of New Media", and "Best Specialty Reporter". She's also moderated several debates and forums with local and statewide political candidates. Working in southern Colorado since 2017, she's covered everything from wildfires to floods, the COVID-19 pandemic, and tragedies like the Club Q Shooting. She began her journalism career in Idaho Falls, ID. Zimmerman is originally from Wichita, KS, and has a Journalism degree from the University of Colorado Boulder. Outside of work, she spends time with her husband and their dog, Ginger, reading, and taking aerobics classes.
