About the Speaker
Dr.Harvey Klehr is an Andrew W. Mellon Professor of Politics and History at Emory University. His academic career spans five decades and he received his Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1971. This will mark the seventh time he has taught a National Endowment for the Humanities Summer Seminar For School Teachers since 1991. He is the winner of numerous grants and awards including the Emory Williams Distinguished Teaching Award for Emory College (1983), Emory University Scholar-Teacher of the Year (1995), Emory University Thomas Jefferson Award (1999) and Emory University Distinguished Faculty Lecturer (2012).
